What is Plesk, and how is it used?

Plesk, designed and developed by SWSoft, is a control panel used to manage and administer an entire web hosting environment. Web hosting companies that support Plesk make it available to web site owners, which allows them to create email addresses and lists, FTP accounts, databases and much more. It also provides the site owner with the ability to install several pre-build web applications at the touch of a button, including forum software like phpBB, content management systems like Drupal and portal systems like eGroupWare.
